Summary

St. Helens Licensed House was situated in Wood Street Preston. Its licence was first issued in 1906. In 1928 its name was changed to "Pleasant View". In 1953 the institution was taken over by the Government and became known as Pleasant View Receiving House. It housed acute short-term psychiatric patients. Pleasant View was closed in March 1973.
